The big news in Arsenal’s summer has always been the Alexis Sanchez transfer saga. However, with the Chilean still not making his promised announcement of his future, attention is being shifted to other Gunners.
Word is that Everton are ready to continue their spending fiesta by making a big money offer for Theo Walcott.
The Mirror are reporting that Ronald Koeman & Co. want a replacement for Yannick Bolasie, who is currently injured. While Leicester City’s Demarai Gray has also been linked, the fact that Walcott will probably have limited opportunities next year may mean he is on his way out of North London.
Arsene Wenger confirmed just days ago that Arsenal will continue using the 3-4-3 formation that helped them win 8 of their last 9 matches last season. Theo Walcott, as a winger rather than a wing-back, does not have a clear-cut position in that lineup.
The reported transfer fee is $38 million for the former Southampton Academy man, who joined the Gunners in 2006 for just $12 million.
In over ten years, Walcott has made 377 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions, scoring 104 goals. This is despite being criticized for his inconsistencies, and falling short of his potential.
Okay Gooners what do YOU think?
Do you think this rumor hold water? Should Arsenal cash in on Walcott? If he stays will he get play time?
