I’m sure you already know, but just in case, our two biggest stars are entering the final months of their contracts here at Arsenal. Alexis Sanchez is out of contract in the summer, and wants a move away. Likewise, Mesut Ozil may leave the Emirates soon. Now, however, there is a┬áNew Contract For Mesut Ozil on the table in north London.

New Contract For Mesut Ozil?

So, it’s with no great surprise to read an article like this one from Sport-english which claims the German play-maker is almost out the door already, with Manchester United the reported destination.

Then again, there are very conflicting rumors afoot right now, for example the Daily Star is reporting that a new three-year contract has already been agreed to keep Ozil at the Emirates.

Then there is also the Tweet from one particular Arsenal Fan TV regular, Lee Judges, who corroborates the latter storyline. While not all the fans on AFTV are trustworthy, they do have greater access to the club than most Gooners.

Hope the people in the know are right!

I’m not too sure just who to believe, but right now it seems as though the rumors of a miraculous break-through in negotiations with Ozil are out-weighing those claiming he has already agreed personal terms elsewhere.

There is another angle to this story. We know that Arsenal have been trying to keep hold of both the German and Alexis Sanchez, but both wanted astronomical wages as part of any new deal.

Perhaps the club, and new Head of Recruitment Sven Mislintat, have decided to scrape plans of re-signing Alexis and have offered Ozil an improved deal.

Whatever the truth is, Gooners everywhere will hope that these rumors hold water, and we can keep out little magician.
