Lyon President: Lacazette WILL Go To Arsenal!

Alexandre Lacazette

The newest Arsenal transfer saga may not go the way of so many others throughout the years. Alexandre Lacazette, after over twelve months of interest, looks ready to move from Lyon to Arsenal this summer.

At least that’s what Jean-Michel Aulas, President of the French club, told Le Progres over the weekend.

The French magazine quoted Aulas as saying the deal will be completed in “one or two days”, and will shatter both Arsenal’s and Lyon’s respective transfer records.

“The deal will happen for something between €45 ($51) and €50 ($57) million (plus add-ons). To be close to €50m is something unique, and will be a record for Arsenal and a record for Lyon. One must also take into account that traditionally, a club like Arsenal do not have the habit of spending so much for one player.”

The previous Arsenal record was set in 2013 when Mesut Ozil came over from Real Madrid for £42 million ($55). While the initial fee may fall just shy of that total, add-ons may increase the sum to officially break the record.

Is M’bappe Deal Dead?

With the Gunner’s acquisition of their prime target seemingly secured, pending a medical, what does this mean for the Kylian M’bappe transfer?

Surely Arsenal don’t want to spend another $100+ million on one single player after already shattering their new record transfer. Aside from the money, where would M’bappe play in a system including Alexandre Lacazette?

Here at the Stateside Gooner, there were already doubts about that deal; the team is not in the Champions League, and there are other, more successful, suitors calling on the young striker.

With Lacazette inbound (hopefully), the M’bappe deal is surely dead.

What do you think of the news? Do you really believe Lacazette is coming? Does this mean the M’bappe deal is dead?
