Happy Independence Day from the Stateside Gooner! July 4th is a great day to relax with some friends and family, and celebrate our nation’s birthday.
But, according to a mysterious source, July 5th will be an even happier day for Arsenal fans worldwide.
Alexandre Lacazette is apparently in London today for his medical examination, and ESPN report that Arsenal will announce his signing tomorrow.
The source of the information is, as usual, a total mystery to everyone outside of the reporter’s head. For what it’s worth, wannabe Deep Throat claims that the deal will be completed within 24 short hours.
Remember that over the weekend Jean-Michel Aulas, President of Lacazette’s current club Lyon, told reporters that the transfer would be completed “in one or two days.”
So, despite the sketchy source, it appears that Alexandre Lacazette will be an Arsenal player.
The fee, unconfirmed by either club, is thought to be somewhere between $60 and $70 million. Either way it is expected to eclipse the $55 million Arsene Wenger paid for Mesut Ozil in 2013, setting a new club record in the process.
But, more importantly, what do you think of the Alexandre Lacazette deal?
Will it happen? Will it fall through? Will the Gunners still bid for M’bappe?
