The Results Are In!
Arsenal will play West Ham at home in the Quarterfinals of the Carabao Cup!
All-time, the Gunners have won 63 games versus the Hammers, drawn 38 and lost only 34 in all competitions. The last five contested between the two sides have resulted in three Arsenal wins, one draw and one victory for West Ham.
The loss occurred on August 9, 2015 and was the first time Arsenal had dropped points against the Hammers since drawing 2-2 in October 2009. The last time the teams met was in April of this year, and the Gunners managed a 3-0 win at home.
The last time the teams met in the League Cup was back in 1998, when the Gunners came away with a 2-1 win on the road. The last cup tie contested between the teams was in January 2010, and Arsenal again won by a score of 2-1.
The other fixtures are as follows:
Chelsea v Bournemouth
Bristol City v Manchester United
Leicester City v Manchester City
The Waiting Game…
The draw has been delayed for one hour, now slated to begin at 5pm London time (12pm EST).
Alongside the Gunners in the draw sit Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, West Ham, Leicester City, Bournemouth and Championship club Bristol City.
So, odds are decent that the team will draw a ‘weaker’ opponent, although as Norwich proved on Tuesday, even a Championship side can be dangerous.
The Quarterfinal will be commence on December 18, with all teams playing their fixtures during this week.
